A fabulous original French glass coolie pendant light shade in white opaline milk glass. We call this style the Marilyn, as the shape reminds us of the famous photo of Marilyn Monroe. It's incredible how you can have so much movement in a piece of glass, and this one would have been hand-made, probably back in the 1930s. We have completed it with an antiqued brass gallery and new brass bulb holder. The electric cable is not included, but is available separately in our ebay store, along with a selection of ceramic ceiling roses which would complement this shade beautifully.
We search antiques fairs and shops in France to source these and similar shades. We think they would look absolutely beautiful in just about any room, and also in a shop or café.
In great condition, with no chips or cracks but please note that minor imperfections are inevitable with items of this age and which have been manufactured in small batches with a lot of hand finishing. Nearly all these old shades have nibbles and small chips around the top of the neck, all of which are covered when the gallery is in place.
