A very beautiful vintage French glass frilly coolie ceiling light shade in a pale blue, fused on to white opaline milk glass beneath. We have completed with an antiqued brass gallery and new brass bulbholder. The cable is not included, but is available separately in our ebay store along with a selection of ceramic ceiling roses which would complement this vintage shade beautifully.
We search antiques fairs and shops in France to source these and similar shades. It's hard to date this one exactly, but we think it was probably made in the 1950s. We think it would look absolutely beautiful in just about any room, and also in a shop or café.
In excellent condition, with no chips or cracks but please note that minor imperfections are inevitable with items of this age and which have been manufactured in small batches with a lot of hand finishing. The vast majority of these shades also have nibbles around the top of the neck where the gallery is fixed, but these cannot be seen when it's in place.
Measures approx. 28cm diameter x 9.5cm max height. Bulbholder is bayonet fitting. Electric flex and bulb are not included - this listing is for the shade, the brass gallery and the bulbholder.
