Vintage French opaline fused glass piecrust coolie ceiling light milk glass

An original vintage French coolie light shade with a fused clear glass piecrust edge, probably dating from between the 1930s and 50s.  We have completed it with a new chrome bulbholder and a metre of period style twisted fabric electric flex.  The bulb is not included.  The light can be finished off with a porcelain ceiling rose, and we sell a selection of these separately in our ebay store.  These period vintage shades were originally hung from high ceilings in old kitchens and parlours in France, sometimes on the end of rise and fall suspensions.  Typically French, they look gorgeous in any room.

As these are original items from an earlier manufacturing era, and probably made with a lot of hand finishing, please expect slight flaws and imperfections.  If ordering more than one shade, we can match them up but each shade is unique and no two are 100% identical.  

The glass on this shade is white opaline with clear glass trim.  The shades measures approx. 24cm diameter and 5cm high, but again please note sizes between these shades can vary between shades by around 0.5cm diameter and height. The lamp holder is chrome-plated brass, earthed and made in the UK.  The electric flex is 3-core and also UK made.  The bulb is not included.
