A very beautiful original French frosted glass frilly coolie ceiling light shade which we have completed with an antiqued brass gallery and new brass bulbholder. The flex is not included.
We search antiques fairs and shops in France to source these and similar shades. It's hard to date them exactly, but we think they were probably produced between the 1930s to 1950s. We think they would look absolutely beautiful in just about any room, and also in a shop or café.
In excellent condition, with no chips or cracks but please note that minor imperfections are inevitable with items of this age and which have been manufactured in small batches with a lot of hand finishing. The vast majority of these shades also have nibbles around the top of the neck where the gallery is fixed, but these cannot be seen when it's in place.
Measures approx. 27cm diameter x 10cm max height. Bulbholder is bayonet fitting. Electric flex and bulb are not included - this listing is for the shade, the brass gallery and the bulbholder.
