A vintage original from France, this frosted frilly coolie shade is in a very beautiful ice blue colour. Probably dating from the 1950s, we have completed it with an antiqued brass gallery and new bulbholder. Electric cable is available separately in our store, along with period style ceramic ceiling roses which would complement the shade beautifully.
We search antiques fairs and shops in France to source these and similar shades. We think they look absolutely beautiful in just about any room, and also in a shop or café.
In good condition overall, apart from a short internal split, possibly made during manufacture (see picture). There is also a very tiny nibble at the end of one of the points (final picture). Nearly all these old shades also have nibbles around the neck where the gallery sits, and which are completely covered by the gallery.
Measures approx. 27cm diameter x 8cm max height. Bulbholder is bayonet fitting. Electric flex and bulb are not included - this listing is for the shade, the brass gallery and the bulbholder.
