Vintage French domed opaline fused glass piecrust coolie light shade & fittings

A beautiful French coolie light shade in a gently domed shape with a fused clear glass piecrust edge.  A vintage original, which we have completed with an antiqued brass gallery and bulb holder.  Vintage style UK made flex is available separately in our ebay store, along with porcelain ceiling roses for the final flourish.  These period vintage shades were originally hung from high ceilings in old kitchens and parlours in France, sometimes on the end of rise and fall suspensions.  Typically French, they look gorgeous in any room.

As these are original items from an earlier manufacturing era, and probably made with a lot of hand finishing, please expect slight flaws and imperfections.  There are nearly always chips and nibbles around the top of the neck where the gallery sits, which do not show when it's in place.  If ordering more than one shade, we can match them up but each shade is unique and no two are 100% identical. We may also need to use slightly different galleries as stocks can vary.

The glass on this shade is white opaline with clear glass trim.  The shades measures approx. 25cm diameter and 6.5cm high.  Bulb holder is bayonet fitting.
