A very pretty little ribbed glass ceiling light, sourced in France and probably dating from the 1930s-1950s. The glass is marbled, which refracts the light beautifully, and the shape is very Art Deco in style. We have added a new UK made antiqued brass bulbholder and 1 metre of dark brown vintage style twisted cable. We sell vintage style porcelain roses in our store, which would complement this shade beautifully.
We search antiques fairs and shops in France to source these and similar shades. They would have been largely hand made by draping molten glass over a mould. We think they would look absolutely beautiful in just about any room, and also in a shop or café.
In excellent condition, with no chips or cracks but please note that minor imperfections are inevitable with items of this age and which have been manufactured in small batches with a lot of hand finishing.
