An original vintage French outdoor light, probably dating from the 1920s or 30s. Designed to be watertight, the enamel reflector shade covers a long glass bulb and the ceramic bulb fitting screws into a ceramic T-shaped head. Cable comes out of the holes at each side of the head, and several lights can be strung together (see final photo), or they work equally well on their own. The hook can hang straight from the ceiling, or on the end of a chain if you want it to hang lower. We think it would look fantastic in a kitchen, café, shop or lobby, as well as in an outside courtyard or garden. The drawing of the shade is from an original 1920s catalogue, and the wholesale price then (approx 90p) equates to around £50 today.
