A Georgian or early Victorian brooch made from intricately woven wire surrounding a hand-painted polychrome cherub on porcelain. Originating from Silesia, now part of Poland, which was famous for its incredibly skilled jewellery woven with the most delicate threads of iron. The cherub is hand-painted, probably on to bone china or porcelain. I have not attempted to clean this piece. Measures approx 5cm (just under 2") high by 4cm (1 1/2") wide. Weight is 16g.
